The Gold Coast SUNS are going all guns blazing into this Sunday’s practice match against Collingwood.
While captain, Gary Ablett, will miss the match with a corked calf, the GC SUNS will welcome back Jaeger O’Meara, Dion Prestia, Trent McKenzie, David Swallow, Michael Rischitelli and Queenslander, Andrew Boston.
Rory Thompson was ruled out earlier in the week due to a bout of gastro, which has him racing against the clock to be ready for the side’s Rouen 1 clash with Richmond.
Young gun, Mt Gravatt’s Clay Cameron, has been named for his third straight match, and a good performance could be enough for him to squeeze into the Gold Coast’s Rd 1 team.
Cairns’ Jarrod Harbrow, Redland’s Charlie Dixon, Morningside’s Jackson Allen and Townsville’s Josh Hall have all been named once again for the team’s final pre-season fixture.
Collingwood has its fair share of Sunshine State talent in its squad for Sunday afternoon.
Star midfielder and Southport product, Dayne Beams, leads a list of players returning to the side
Ruckman, Mt Gravatt’s Ben Hudson will also be added to the side, while Lachie Keeffe retains his spot in the side, which lost to Richmond last weekend.
Collingwood defender, Alan Toovey, will make his first appearance for the Pies in almost a year, after a knee reconstruction.
Taylor Adams, Ben Sinclair, Jarrod Witts will also come into the side to face the SUNS, in their final hit-out before the season proper.
