The Gold Coast SUNS will hold their 2014 Australia Post Community Camp in Logan and Beenleigh this week.
The players will spread to the city’s northern region to complete a two-day community camp, visiting a total of 28 schools conducting skills clinics and speaking engagements.
With the Northern Growth Corridor expanding at a rapid rate, the Gold Coast SUNS have made a continued effort to maintain a strong presence in the community, working closely with local schools and service providers in the area through the club’s Horizon’s Program.
General Manager of Marketing, Fan Development & Community – Kelly Ryan, said the Gold Coast SUNS welcomed the opportunity to host the 2014 Australia Post Community in one of the club’s most focused areas of support.
“After delivering on a successful community camp in Townsville last year, we are delighted to have the opportunity to stay on the Gold Coast and give back to our local community,” Ryan said.
“The Gold Coast’s northern region is a huge growth area for us, in regards to membership, AFL participation and fan development, and we are looking forward to spending more time in this region this week so we can personally thank this region for their continued support of the GC SUNS.”
“We are excited to be able to put on a Community Camp that focuses on local business, primary and secondary schools, community engagement through the Library and also a Super Clinic hosted by our players for any kids currently playing or interested in playing AFL.”
