Queensland fans will now have three opportunities to see teams gear up for the AFL home-and-away season with the announcement of a practice match between the Gold Coast SUNS and Collingwood at Metricon Stadium on Sunday March 2.
This follows last week’s announcement of a Brisbane Lions v Sydney Swans practice game on March 8 as part of the grand opening celebrations for the Burpengary Regional Sports Park – AFL Precinct.
North Queensland fans can see the Gold Coast SUNS take on the Brisbane Lions in their NAB Challenge match at Townsville’s Tony Ireland Stadium on Sunday February 23.
All clubs have been fixtured to play one practice match in the period between March 2-8 after the conclusion of the NAB Challenge, in which the 18 AFL clubs will play 18 matches across every state and territory in Australia in 18 days to open the 2014 season.
