Tiger Coach bids farewell after three year success story

The Mayne Tigers bid farewell to Shaun Daly last week after a highly successful three year stint with the club.

Daly was recruited from the Albury Tigers in 2013 to join the Mayne club after a very successful career in the Ovens and Murray League which included three premierships and a Morris Medal as the best player in the League in 2011.

In making the move to Queensland, Daly had designs on a coaching career which fitted the Tigers plans perfectly. After discussions with long term Mayne coach at the time, Mitch Ferguson, an agreement was reached that he would take on an assistant coaching role in his first season on the understanding that he would take the reins in 2014.

In a tribute to Ferguson at the recent Mayne Club Champion Dinner, Daly gave credit to him for making the move possible and for the support and encouragement he was given which created a seamless transition to senior coach.

Daly was voted Club Champion in 2013, a feat he repeated in 2014 and again in 2015. Daly also steered the Tigers to their first premiership in 32 years in 2014 as on field coach and followed it up with a back to back performance in 2015.

The Mayne Tigers are now looking for a new Head Coach to steer the club into the 2016 season and beyond. Interested parties are encouraged to lodge their application and credentials with the club by addressing all correspondence to [email protected] . Enquiries can be made with Director of Football, Danny Craven on 0413 605 007.
