After a two- week State Under 16 Championships followed by a further 5 weeks of training, practice matches and a Team Camp the Queensland Young Scorpions have selected the Final Squad of 25 players who will represent Queensland at the NAB AFL National Under 16 Championships in Western Sydney from July 6-12 inclusive.
AFL Queensland would like to thank all players not selected and their parents for their commitment and travel dedication to and from training, camps and practice matches and wish all the players well in their future football endeavours.

Unfortunately a knee injury incurred at training last Wednesday night will mean John Mason (Sherwood FC) will not participate in the Championships and the other 4 boys who made up the 30 are listed as emergencies and may still be called on in case of any further injuries to players in the final 25.

Training continues Monday and Wednesday for the squad at Yeronga and AFL Queensland will be in contact with all the North Queensland based players regarding travel and accommodation arrangements for both the week prior to the Championships (Training and Practice Match) and the week of the Championships in Western Sydney as these dates fall into the School Holidays period.
Information for parents re NAB AFL National Under 16 Championships games:
The squad travel as a group from Brisbane to Sydney on morning of Saturday 6 July and stay in Western Sydney for the duration of the Championships until Saturday evening 13 July arriving back in Brisbane.
