AFL Queensland is pleased to announce an Under 8 Girls competition will be introduced in the Maccas SEQ Juniors League for the first time in 2025 in Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
This new offering provides girls transitioning from NAB AFL Auskick with a tackle-free introduction to community football, addressing the previous need for young girls to choose between a mixed under 8 competition or modified tackling in under 9 girls.
This initiative marks a significant step forward for girls’ football in Southeast Queensland and reflects the growth we’ve experienced in recent years.
