The NT Thunder welcome back experienced key position players Cameron Roberts and Hamish Simpson for tomorrow’s clash with Mt Gravatt at Dittmer Park.
The duo are likely to hold down the key defensive posts against Vultures gamebreakers Shane Morrison and Billy Cleary.
Their presence adds stability to a young defensive outfit that has leaked goals on recent visits to south-east Queensland.
The Thunder have not won on the road this year and are desperate for a breakthrough victory that would do wonders for their finals hopes.
The Thunder currently sit at 4-5 and on the outskirts of the top five.
“Fourth to eighth is pretty tight and we have shown that we can do anything with our best side on the park,” said Thunder coach Murray Davis.
His problem has been a mass turnover of players almost on a weekly basis.
“It’s not ideal being 4-5 but if we can get some consistency in our side each week then we can win enough games to finish the year off strongly,” Davis said.
“But we can’t afford to lose touch with the top five.”
