To celebrate National Volunteer Week we are highlighting winners from the 2012 AFL Queensland Volunteer and Coach Awards
Today we recognise the 2012 Junior Club Volunteer of the Year winner, Sharon Webb from Brisbane.
The award for the Junior Club Volunteer of the Year is presented to a hard working volunteer at the junior club level.
Winners of this award display outstanding commitment and dedication to their junior club, and have the willingness to go beyond expectations to provide the best environment for club participants, families, volunteers and sponsors.
Sharon is the Treasurer of the Caboolture JAFC and committee and foundation member of the Elimbah JAFC. She is also President of the Elimbah SS P&C and committee member of the Elimbah Sports Recreation Association.
The establishment of new club Elimbah would have been an uphill struggle without the input of Sharon’s hard work, and her loyal commitment to the Caboolture JAFC, demonstrates her passion and drive to further develop the sport.
At new club Elimbah, Sharon has fulfilled a variety of roles including mentoring new committee members, the set up and assistance of the canteen on training nights, the set up and cooking sausages of sausages, packing up on match days and educating and training new volunteers.
Sharon somehow manages to balance life on one plate. She has greatly benefited both clubs in addition to her own personal roles (work and her family) and takes so many extra hours out of her own life to go beyond anyone expectations.
