The Mt Gravatt Vultures have recently welcomed their latest batch of junior Auskick recruits to the club.
The Vulture’s Auskick Coordinator, Russell McDonald, has been leading more than 25 kids through a number of skills and games on Monday afternoons with the support of some up-and-coming stars from the Under 16’s.
He said it was great to get assistance from such enthusiastic young men who are driven to see these youngsters eventually participate in the football club along side them.
Zeke Taylor (Pictured), Liam Sherrington, Harrison Davis and Alex Robinson have been helping introduce the new recruits to the club.
The boys have displayed excellent coaching and leadership skills, showing that the future of the Mt Gravatt Vultures is in capable hands and is looking bright.
Club Coordinator, Ally Kenwood, said she was thrilled that the older players had stepped up to make the new generation of players welcome to the club.
“It’s fantastic to see young boys showing an interest in the future of their club and assisting youngsters to develop from the moment they set foot in the grounds,” Ms Kenwood said.
Mr McDonald said Auskick and junior football is a huge part of the clubs strategic plan in developing grassroots football in the region.
“This will strengthen our clubs base for the future and is something we are really striving to work on going forward,” he said.
The Auskick program runs on a Monday afternoon from 4.00pm – 5.00pm at Dittmer Park, Klumpp Road, Upper Mount Gravatt.
