Former Brisbane Lions player Matthew Moody is in line for West Australian selection for next month’s interstate clash with Queensland in Perth.

Former Brisbane Lions player Matthew Moody is in line for West Australian selection for next month’s interstate clash with Queensland in Perth.
Moody, who played 34 AFL games for the Lions from 2005-08 after being taken at No.23 in the 2003 AFL National Draft, was named today in a 31-man squad to be coached by Swan Districts’ WAFL premiership coach Bruce Dawson.
Other familiar names in the squad include ex-West Coast Eagles premiership ace Ashley Hansen, ex-Eagles teammates Andrew McDougall and Beau Wilkes, ex-Carlton midfielder Luke Blackwell (pictured) and ex-St.Kilda ruckman Matthew Rix.
Assistant-coaches of the WA side will be West Perth’s Bill Monaghan, Claremont’s Adam Lange, East Perth’s Michael Braun and Adrian Hickmott from Swan Districts.
Former Fremantle Dockers and Swan Districts player Matt Carr is also an Assistant Coach and Darren Solomon from Perth Football Club is Football Operations Manager.
Former WA State U18s coach and Fremantle Dockers Football Manager Gerard McNeill is the Chairman of Selectors.
Under selection guidelines agreed by both states, AFL listed players are not eligible for selection but AFL Rookie listed players are eligible.
