QUEENSLAND STATE ACADEMY UNDER 16 CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Northern Raiders, South Eastern Bushrangers, Gold Coast North, Gold Coast South, Suncoast Power, Western Taipans, Country Kookaburras and Papua New Guinea competed in the 2012 KooGa State Under 16 Championships at Yeronga in what was a very even and closely contested Championship.
The Grand Final game was a very exciting contest with the Northern Raiders holding off a fast finishing Country Kookaburra team to win the title by 6-points.
QUEENSLAND STATE UNDER 14 CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Northern Raiders, South Eastern Bushrangers, Gold Coast North, Gold Coast South, Suncoast Power, Western Taipans, Country Kookaburras and Papua New Guinea took part in the 2012 Kooga Under 14 State Championships on the Sunshine Coast.
Fine conditions were enjoyed on day one of the Championships but unfortunately the weather turned nasty on day two; torrential rain during all four games on the day resulting in the ground at Maroochydore deemed unplayable on day three.
Despite efforts to reschedule later the next week, extremely inclement weather again resulted in a decision to cancel the remainder of the Championships.
With only two teams undefeated after round 2 the Western Taipans and Gold Coast South were declared co-winners of the 2012 title.
