Queensland took part in the inaugural National Inclusion Carnival this season, giving players with intellectual disabilities the chance to represent their state.
Played in Melbourne, the team had the opportunity to play the best players from other states, including a match on the MCG, fulfilling many of their dreams.
Captained by Graydon Poulsen the team finished with two wins from five matches.
Poulsen, an outstanding midfielder, won Queensland’s best and fairest medal after producing some scintillating displays through the carnival.

QUEENSLAND INCLUSION
TEAM New South Wales handed Queensland a second straight defeat, 10.9 (69) – 1.1 (7), with Poulsen kicking the Maroons’ only goal of the game. O’Neil played
another great game, while John Lawrence was strong in a tough match.
GAME 4 – VIC METRO
Queensland had a tough battle with Vic Metro, unfortunately going down 1.2 (80) – 10.8 (68) in their second last preliminary match. Shaun McKee and vice- captain, Kieran Landells, were the best for Queensland in the game.
GAME 5 – SOUTH AUSTRALIA
It was a tight game between Queensland and South Australia as a slow start cost Queensland in a tight game. Poulsen was once again the standout player ,with Brad Lawrence and Tim Gould putting in good performances as well.
GAME 6 – FIFTH PLACE PLAY OFF V TASMANIA
Queensland finished the carnival on the perfect note, with a 7.9 (51) – 5.7 (37) win over Tasmania, keeping them in fifth spot for the tournament. The Queensland team put in a truly even performance, with almost every player finishing with excellent performances.

GAME 1 - TASMANIA
Queensland kicked off their carnival in the perfect way, with a 6.5 (41) –
5.9 (39) win over Tasmania. Graydon Poulsen kicked two goals, while Kai Armstrong and Jake Bell played important roles as the maroons claimed an opening victory.
GAME 2 – VIC COUNTRY
The second match proved a bit more of a challenge for Queensland, who succumbed to Vic Country, 0.3 (3) – 12.8 (86). Luke O’Neill was a standout player for Queensland in the match, while Brad Lawrence, Matt Brown and Poulsen were all impressive.
