AFL Queensland would like to acknowledge the following volunteers that have received awards in recognition of their exceptional contribution to the game in 2014. State level Volunteer of the Year awards recognized exceptional contribution to the game in 2014.
STATE CLUB VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR
TREVOR JOLLY, YEPPOON AFC
• After consecutive years of devastating flooding, Trevor dedicated many hours undertaking major field restorations, mostly through a small trailer, shovel and rake. Trevor has dedicated a total of 30 years’ service to the game.

CLUB ADMINISTRATOR OF THE YEAR
LEANNE KEAR, CENTRALS JAFC
• Leanne sets the highest of benchmarks in club management. Leanne is heavily active in many areas of the running the club with key initiatives such as website development with online registration, ‘Get Started’ Grant and mailing list integration, volunteer initiatives; proactive blue card management and infrastructure grant success.
LEAGUE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE YEAR
MAX MCALISTER, LEAGUE SECRETARY FOR AFL WIDE BAY
• Max is organised, an excellent communicator and exceptional at supporting clubs. Through countless hours administering the league, Max is a driving force to support the growth of AFL in the Wide Bay region.
STATE VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR FOR 2014
BRETT GILLETT, WILSTON GRANGE FOOTBALL CLUB
• An involvement including 200 senior games, Colts coaching, Junior Development, senior coaching and Club President, Brett has made outstanding contributions and success in 2014. As part of the award, Brett and partner Sharon were flown to participate in the Toyota AFL Grand Final Parade and attend the Toyota AFL Grand Final.
OUTSTANDING LONG SERVICE TO THE GAME
CAREY REGAN, AFL MACKAY
• Carey Regan has dedicated more than 43 years to the game and has made significant contributions as a highly decorated player, coach, umpire, club and league volunteer.
GRAHAM MURRIHY, SPRINGWOOD AFC
• Graham has dedicated more than 25 years to the game, undertaking every role imaginable. Significant credit is afforded to Graham for the club’s existence to date.
JASON WRIGHT, WARWICK AFC
• Jason has dedicated over 23 years’ service to the game through coaching and volunteers, often concurrently. Jason recently secured and project managed $900,000 of infrastructure development for the club.
