QUEENSLAND » RYAN DAVEY
Ryan Davey is one of the smoothest movers in Queensland football. The Labrador captain wasn’t available for last years State Representative Carnival, so look for him to make up for lost time this year.
The in and under midfielder wins a heap of his own footy, spreads well, and is very dangerous when he goes forward. He uses the ball extremely well, slowing the game down with ball in hand. Expect him to hit the scoreboard if he finds the footy inside 50.
In 2014, Davey missed the last seven games of QAFL season due to injury, but had still polled enough votes in the early rounds to take out the 2014 J.A. Grogan medal, his second. He also took out Labrador’s Best and Fairest despite the lay off.
He has been in good touch in 2015, leading Labrador to a 7-0 start in the QAFL this year.
He passion for AFL reaches into his professional life, where he works as Community Program Manager for the Gold Coast SUNS.
A natural leader with or without the footy, Davey will lead from the front for Queensland today.
