P. 26
As a Club the Gold Coast SUNS have built their Community strategy around listening to the Community, its Community stakeholders, Local Council and Government to find out areas that are most in need of support of the Gold Coast.
This strategy and hard work by players and coaches has seen the Club recently acknowledged at the end of 2011 by winning the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards Mayors awards, for their work in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility.
In 2012 the Club have focused a significant portion of their Community work around their “3 pillars” of corporate social responsibility (which are the city’s three biggest challenges the Gold Coast city faces):
Outside of the work the Gold Coast SUNS do in the 3 pillars, the Club also focuses on:
• Education & Schools
• Local AFL Clubs
• Multicultural Programs
• Indigenous Programs
• Community Support – Fundraising, Donations & Events
