COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS
Queensland competed in their twelth bi-annual Country Championships carnival under the guidance of Steve Daniels.
After an extensive Queensland Country Championships involving all Country Regions, a squad of 25 players was selected to tour Wagga Wagga.
Since the inception of the National Championship in 1990 Queensland have now had over 238 players represent their state.
A combination of regional and country of origin NEAFL players has made the team very competitive.
This year was no different as the Queenslanders accounted for Western Australia twice during the carnival.
Victoria continued its dominance with both teams making the final.
Ryan Holman (Morningside / Goondiwindi) and Daniel
Dzufer (Redland / Sunshine Coast) were selected in the All Australian Country Team; the 25th and 26th Queensland player respectively to make the team since 1990.
