SCHOOL VISITS: Schools have really enjoyed the new Playing the Game focus with six week comps being conducted in most remote schools. Participation: 1,284.
HIGHLIGHTS: GAME DEVELOPMENT
• Very good carnival held in Cooktown at the end of Term One for South East Cape Primary schools
• Crusader Cup Champs were held in Bamaga over two days. We selected U14 Crusaders for 2015
• Ruth Neliman from Thursday Island was the first female named in the U12 State Primary Schools country team
• AFLCY Under 16 Crusaders took out Country Champs. Four players named in North Queensland squad
• U18 Program: Glendon Woosup played several SUNS Academy and NEAFL games in 2014. Glendon will attend Bond University in 2015 and will link into the Academy on the Gold Coast
• The number of Indigenous girls in state high schools program, National Kickstart Champs and Youth Girls State Champs.
• Record participation at the Chris Johnson Cup - New Mapoon Community
HIGHLIGHTS: AFLCY HOUSE
• All 23 students returned for Term One 2014 -100% retention
• Formation of the Eagles at the House has been a success with the U15 and U17 teams playing off in Grand Finals
• Student numbers have increased to 36 with 45 being our target in 2015.
• Six Year 12 boys graduated in 2014 with three headed to university
