HIGHLIGHTS
• 16.81% growth on 2013 which is an excellent result for the region
• Grand final day saw the Glenmore Bulls break a 24-year premiership drought in A Grade coming from 5 goals down at half-time to win comfortably over the Swans
• The continued success of the region’s NAB AFL Auskick program reaching over 1,200 participants
• Establishment of a regional Infrastructure plan put together by AFL Queensland’s Facilities and grounds department to be integrated into the AFL Capricornia strategic plan
• Capricornia Cobras – the first standalone Youth Girls team competed in the Youth Girls State Championships. The team had a fantastic carnival, finishing second to Darling Downs in the Division 2 Grand Final.
• Record participation in the regional representative talent programs with the region producing one U16 state player, five U16 North Queensland representatives, eight U14 central representatives and four girls included in the State Academy
• Fifty-five participants at this year’s AFL Capricornia Juniors development camp held over November 21, 22 and 23. The camp was lucky enough to have the SUNS Talent Academy manager Jason Torney on hand to put them through their paces
