• Darling Downs was the best performer in 2014, doubling in size in one year, from three to six sides (a 60 % increase). The Downs has engaged a further three clubs to run a nine team competition in 2015.
• Sunshine Coast Juniors still lead the way in youth girls’ football with ten of the league’s

SCHOOLS
• The Youth Girls Cup continues to be one of the biggest and best supported one day carnivals. The Sunshine Coast again led the way in 2014 with 32 teams entered.
• The Brisbane Lions and Gold Coast SUNS Cups also provided a great platform to showcase girls school footy with mroe than 130 teams playing across Queensland. School football continues to provide the first touch point to engage girls in Australian football with 38,612 participants.
NAB AFL AUSKICK
• Queensland was lucky to have two girls selected in the NAB AFL Auskicker of the year promotion. Holly Simms and Poppy Thompson enjoyed the Toyota Grand Final from the front row and are looking forward to continuing their football.
• NAB AFL Auskick continues to attract large numbers of girls across Queensland with 7,516 signing up in 2014.
• Darling Downs had huge success with 584 girls and Townsville a very close second with 489.
• Brisbane South ran a dedicated female Auskick clinic with 50 girls and used some great initiatives to introduce the girls to the club environment including player appearances, gala nights and local club visits. Of the 50 who attended 30 are now in contact with their local club.
