In 2014 AFL Queensland delivered many game development programs that engaged multicultural participants, promoted inclusion and used Australian Football as a vehicle to connect with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
MULTICULTURAL SCHOOLS PROGRAM:
The Multicultural Schools Program (MSP) expanded in 2014 to be delivered to over 2,000 students. Programs were run across South East Queensland with the Darling Downs and Gold Coast running their own regional Multicultural Schools Cup at the end of the six-week program, where schools played AFL games in a one-day round robin carnival.
Participants and their families were provided with the opportunity to attend an AFL match at the Gabba during Multicultural Round (QClash 8).
