• AFL Cape York House celebrated its first group of graduates with six young men completing year 12
• 4,500 fans saw the Sydney Swans Reserves withstand a late surge from the Brisbane Lions to win by one point in the second Mackay ANZAC Day NEAFL Clash
• A goal on the siren saw the Aspley Hornets claim the NEAFL premiership with a two-point win over the Sydney Swans Reserves
• 5,700 community players and officials and 1,185 coaches attended educations sessions and courses
• BLK & HART Sport entered into partnership agreements with AFL Queensland as major sponsors of the QAFL & QWAFL and the QFA North & QFA South competitions respectively. The Queensland Government remains a major sponsor of AFLQ and continues to provide significant funding for the continuation of major programs, particularly the promotion of female football in Queensland.
