Gold Coast took out a super competitive U16 State Academy Championships in 2014.
Four teams finished on two wins after four days of matches, but it was the Gold Coast who had the best percentage, edging out Queensland Diversity, Brisbane South and North Queensland.
The closeness of the competition was reflected by the even spread of players selected for the state squad, with 11 from the Gold Coast, six from North Queensland, five from Brisbane North, Brisbane South and Sunshine Coast, and two from the Diversity team.
