In our 10th year of the 17s State championships we expanded
the draw to include 12 teams, split into three divisions. Division 1 featured teams from –Brisbane South, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Cairns; Division 2 – Brisbane No h, Capricornia, Townsville and Darling Downs; Division 3 – Wide Bay, Mackay, No hern Rivers and an Invitational team.
The divisional winners were Gold Coast, Darling Downs, and
No hern Rivers while Ruby Blair from the Gold Coast won the Julia Price Medal as Player
of the Carnival.
Our talent outcomes are a
direct result of high quality club environments and coaching before
players reach Academy level. The State Academy will continue to develop well rounded players who
improve physically and technically but are also quality role models in their club environments.
