Started the season poorly with only a draw to show for the first three rounds and never recovered. Heavy losses against the Lions (twice) and the GC SUNS had the club struggling by the half-way mark of the season.
A home loss to eventual Wooden Spooners Morningside should have ended all hope but heading into Round 21, a win against Southport would have seen the Cats play finals for the first time in six seasons.
All looked lost with a 50 point deficit but a courageous effort saw the scores level with five minutes to go. Southport then responded to end what could only be described as a disappointing year.
