SEASON SNAPSHOT
For the second season in a row the Gold Coast SUNS NEAFL team played finals football in the North Conference. The GC SUNS won nine games to finish in fifth position.
The GC SUNS started the season with four successive wins, at a time when the team required minimal top-up players.
As the season progressed and the GC SUNS AFL team was stretched with a number of significant injuries the team called on the assistance of a number of top up players from the GC SUNS Academy and local clubs.
These top up players continued to impress with the GC SUNS maintaining its position in the top five throughout the season.
With the support of Josh Fraser, Alik Magin and Andrew McQualter the GC SUNS most memorable victory came late in the season with a memorable come from behind win over the top of the table Brisbane Lions.
The GC SUNS bowed out in the first week of the finals series following a loss to Redland.
