2013 was an exciting and at the same time challenging year for the newly formed Brisbane South region.
It started with the old Brisbane West and Brisbane South East regions coming together to form the new “Super region” which has just on 1 million people residing within its boundaries.
This new structure has already born fruit with steady growth in participation particularly at Auskick and junior club level, which should provide a strong platform for club sustainability in the future.

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS
✏ Successful merge of Brisbane West and Brisbane South East to form the new “Super Region” Brisbane South.
✏ Successful transition from School
and Auskick dedicated employees (Development Coordinators) to become Holistic Hub managers.
✏ Opening of new office in Ipswich with two full-time staff members based there.
✏ Growth across both the old South East and West regions
✏ New time efficient scheduling system introduced that streamlines employee
✏ School Holiday camps were run in both the south east and south west with over 250 kids enjoying learning new skills as well as getting up close and personal with some of their favourite Brisbane Lions players.
✏ Changing our segment mix, particularly in the Diversity portfolio, with new programs running for the first time at the Murri School helping engage indigenous students and also the Bachar Houli Cup, a program designed to introduce Islamic students to our game through greater inclusion and culture.
